New Show: The Gates

Cleverly placed in the Sunday at 10pm time slot, after most of us are still reeling from True Blood, ABC gives us, The Gates, if you are still dying for a taste of the supernatural before you head off to bed.  Off to a decent start, The Gates takes place in a gated suburbian community, where all the residents seem to be hiding something, namely the fact that they are vampires, witches, and werewolves.  Gotta feel bad for the new unsuspecting sheriff and his family!  The biggest name on the show is the hot Rhona Mitra, from Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. 

Not sure how long until the series and the storylines fizzle out.  But since True Blood just started, I will tune in for awhile.

An upgraded cartoon is coming out on Cartoon Network in 2011 and this ish looks hot (see here).  It looks darker and is supposed to reveal the origins of Lion-O.  Has anyone watched the old cartoons lately and realized how gay they are now? I can't wait!

Movies/Graphic Novels: The Haunted World of El Superbeasto

Why am I so late on this? Released in 2009,  and based on the comic book series, Rob Zombie's The Haunted World of El Superbeasto is one of the filthiest, nonsensical cartoons I've seen in awhile. I loved it!  I just happened to come across it while looking for a horror movie to rent on Itunes.  Truly for fans of Rob Zombie and his sense of horror/humor. What story there is, is centered around the main character, El Superbeasto, an horny ex-luchador/crime fighter. Lots of sex, bloods, and other bodily fluids, this movie isn't for everyone.  Some voice talent includes Rob's wife, Sheri Moon, Paul Giamatti, and Rosario Dawson.  There are also a few cameos from some of the characters from House of 1000 Corpses.
