Ozzy Scares the crap out of tourists....

My worst nightmare. Check out Ozzy Osbourne scare the crap out of some tourists at Madame Tussaud's in Times Square. It was all in promotion of his upcoming album "Scream"!

Movie: Female Prisoner #701 Scorpion

I've had this slight fascination with old Asian movies lately.  The IFC Center played a series of them last month, so I decided to add them to my Netflix queue.  Female Prisoner #701 Scorpion was the second film in the series.  Now after watching Lady Snowblood, I assumed that this would be another kung fu flick. I was soooo wrong.  I would definitely categorize this movie as a violent female prison sexploitation.  Let me remind you that this movie was made in the 70s, so basically they could do whatever the hell they wanted.

The Plot breakdown: Nami, once a naive good girl, is deceived by a boyfriend/cop, ends up in prison, fueled by vengeance, she turns out to be the baddest bitch in there. Hoping one day to break out and reap revenge on those who have wronged her.

Lots of fights, stabbings, blood, torture, and lesbianism! Those old women in prison movies that came on Cinemax have nothing on this.

Looks like someone has broken down the parts on Youtube (see Part 1 here).  But beware, NSFW!

Update: Human Centipede

So I finally went to the IFC Center in Manhattan this weekend with fellow Yelper Janeen (what up Jeezy!), to check out Tom Six' The Human Centipede (First Sequence).  The full sequence is due out sometime in 2011. I went into this movie knowing that I would be mildly grossed out (e.g. Saw), however I left feeling a little disturbed and somewhat violated. In other words, I loved it!  This is the most original "horror" movie I've seen in years.  Dieter Laser who played the main character, Doctor Heiter was perfectly creepy.  The American "victims" were so idiotic and such bad actresses that at first you were wishing them harm (caught myself yelling at the screen a couple of times), but not to the extent of what was to come!

Horror movie fiends, definitely check it out.  Punk-asses with weak stomachs, pass on it.

Summer Reading: The Picture of Dorian Gray

I am currently reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, in anticipation of watching the current film version (see trailer here).  I've never claimed to be some literary scholar. I like to pick up a book from time to time if the plot intrigues me. Honestly, I knew nothing of Oscar Wilde (who I now find facsinating), nor his books.  I only know of the character, Dorian Gray, because he was in the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (don't judge me), and I was curious.  As of today, I'm only on page 104, but the book has got me. I know this because I almost missed my subway stop the other day.  At times, it reads like Plato or Socrates, but the underlying story is very interesting.  Check out the deets above and you may want to add it to your Summer reading list.

Return of the Living Dead 3: Director's Cut

One of my favorite Horror movies. Watch online free.

True Blood Minisode: Eric & Pam

True Blood Minisode: Sam

New Show: La Femme Nikita

The CW is debuting TV version of La Femme Nikita this Fall, Thursdays at 9pm.  Again, writers are too lazy to come up with an original idea.  Ok so the storyline is awesome (female convicted felon turned into deadly assassin). If you don't know La Femme Nikita (1990), was originally a French film, which the Americans took remixed, and made into Point of No Return (1993) starring Bridget Fonda, then again made into a tv series in, La Femme Nikita (1997) starring Peta Wilson. Check the promo and judge for yourself if you will be tuning in.

Teen Wolf TV Show

I was hoping this rumor would go away and die, as did the Revenge of the Nerds remake.  However, MTV is going ahead with making a Teen Wolf  network show based on the original movie (see details here) starring a bunch of nobodies. Why, you ask? Because as we all know, writers are too lazy to come up with original ideas these days.  And its just easier, considering that the people who still watch MTV, were probably not around when the movie came out.  Officially shunning it.

New Horror Movie: Human Centipede

An article today on CNN.com asks the question, is The Human Centipede "the most disturbing movie ever made?"  Fearnet.com has been hyping this movie up for more than a year.  The plot breakdown is as follows:

Two stupid American girls and a Japanese man vacationing in Germany, wind up in the hands, and deep
dark basement, of a former doctor, who specialized in separating Siamese twins.

Let the madness ensue! See title of the movie and let your imagination run wild.

Check the trailer here.

New Movie: Inception

Jesus you do listen! Inception stars both Leonardo DiCaprio AND Joseph Gordon-Levitt! Do we really care what the movie is about? Not really. Sci-Fi corporate espionage, blah blah blah.  Directed by the same guy who did the last couple Batman movies, blah blah blah. You had me at Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt!  Check the trailer. Due in theaters this July.

Review: Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)

The Nightmare on Elm Street movies are my favorite horror series.  I don't care how bad the acting, Robert Englund's Freddy always seemed to make up for it. So contrary to what you may believe, I went into the New Nightmare on Elm Street movie with an open mind.  I was hoping...no, praying, that this movie would not suck.  However, I was utterly disappointed for many reasons, including but not limited to the following:

1.  Although I liked Jackie Earle Haley in The Watchmen, I was not feeling him as Freddy.  I understand that he was attempting to his own version of the character, but I instantly missed Freddy's snark.  Also, dude is so small, there is no way he would take me in a fight, not even in my dreams.
2. Too much character development for the minor players.  The actress that played Nancy just seemed like another bit background character.
3.  Any speaking of Nancy.  The old Nancy was hardcore.  This Nancy, not so much.
4.  Wasn't feeling that they turned Freddy into some "To Catch A Predator".
5.  Final showdown scene was whack.
6.  The entire movie lacked blood, gore, or terror for that matter.

If you are a fan, you are going to watch it anyway.  But I suggest getting the bootleg.
